According to Indonesia’s meteorology service, a powerful earthquake struck the country early Monday.
The 6.2-magnitude earthquake happened off the coast of Indonesia’s easternmost Papua region, according to the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, BMKG.
The earthquake struck at approximately 9.51 a.m. local time (0251GMT) and had a depth of approximately 33 kilometres (20.51 miles).
The tremor was felt strongly by the locals. There has yet to be any damage reported.
