A man accused of stabbing his wife to death has been seized by security authorities in Somalia’s Qoryooley district in the Lower Shabelle region. The event, which occurred yesterday afternoon, is being investigated to uncover the motive for the fatal stabbing, which is said to have started from a family disagreement.
According to reports, the assailant used a sharp knife to inflict numerous critical injuries on his spouse. Local authorities intervened quickly, apprehending the man before he could run.
This recent event is part of a troubling pattern of rising domestic violence in Somalia, coming only a day after the death of a pregnant woman in Mogadishu. The mother, who was caring for six orphaned children, died from injuries sustained in a fire started by her jealous husband.
