According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a massive 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck the Alaska peninsula region on Sunday.
The USGS altered the magnitude of the earthquake from 7.4 to 7.2, and the depth from 9.3 km to 32.6 km (20.3 miles).
The US Tsunami Warning System has issued a tsunami warning following the earthquake.
