    Abdi Hashi has been re-elected Speaker of the Upper House.

    Senator Abdi Hashi was re-elected Speaker of the Upper House of Somalia’s Federal Parliament, often known as the senate, in a vote held at the Afisioni tent in Mogadishu on Tuesday.

    Salah Ahmed Jama received 24 votes, narrowly defeating Abdi Hashi, who received 28 votes. The current Minister of Information, Osman Abukar Dubbe, garnered two votes.

    In Somalia’s 10th Parliament, Senator Abdi Hashi served as Senate Speaker.

    The election for the positions of deputy speaker is still going on.
