During Lionel Messi’s farewell performance, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated 3-2 to Clermont in a French Ligue 1 week 38 encounter Saturday.

After Clermont’s goal was disallowed in the seventh minute, Sergio Ramos, who also played his farewell match for the Parisians, scored the first goal at Parc Des Princes in the 16th minute.

Kylian Mbappe scored a penalty kick for France in the 21st minute, but Johan Gastien equalised for Clermont three minutes later.

Grejohn Kyei missed a penalty kick in the 37th minute, but Mehdi Zeffane equalised before the half ended in the 46th minute.

In the 63rd minute, Kyei scored the game-winning goal for Clermont.

After a 1-1 draw against Strasbourg last week, Paris Saint-Germain had already earned a record 11th French league title.

Messi, whose contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends at the conclusion of the season, joined the club from Barcelona on a two-year deal in 2021.

During the season, he was chastised for PSG’s exit from the Champions League round of 16 at the hands of Bayern Munich.
