Drought conditions in the Horn of Africa region have displaced over 2.7 million people, according to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).

According to the World Food Programme’s regional status update report, drought has displaced 1.7 million people in Somalia, 516,000 in Ethiopia, and 466,000 in Kenya.

According to the WFP assessment, the entry of hundreds of thousands of refugees in drought-stricken parts of the three nations is worsening food insecurity in the region.
