– On Saturday, the traditional chiefs of the Sool, Sanaag, and Ayn regions met in Las Anod to talk about the future of their lands. The creation of a new federal member state of Somalia is anticipated to be announced by the elders.
The high-level meeting, which was attended by the majority of the elders from the three districts, was started by Garad Jama Garad Ali, the highest traditional clan chief of the Sool, Sanaag, and Ayn territories.
Greater Somalia’s flag is displayed in the conference space as a representation of the meeting’s anticipated decisions against Somaliland.
While the Somaliland politicians and army commanders are in another part of town, the Somaliland administration has consented to host the summit in Las Anod. Elders from the various regions and Somaliland representatives have been negotiating, but no agreement has been achieved.
A 33-member committee chosen by the traditional authorities to preside over the gathering has already ordered Somaliland forces to leave SSC territory.
The governments of Djibouti and Somalia have been encouraged to persuade Somaliland to depart the SSC regions by Garad Jama Garad Ali, the supreme traditional clan chief of the Sool, Sanaag, and Ayn regions.
Garad Jama Garad Ali made his first trip to Las Anod town since the Somaliland administration assumed control of the city in 2007 last week.
Over 20 citizens were slain during anti-Somaliland protests in the city, according to Garad Jama, who claimed Somaliland was behind the incident.
