Turkey’s 85 million citizens won today’s national elections, President Recap Tayyip Endogen declared on Sunday, confident in his clear lead in the reelection race.

“All 85 million of our citizens are the winners of both the May 14 and May 28 elections,” Endogen said from Istanbul.

“We declared, ‘We will win in such a way that no one will lose.'” Today, Türkiye is the sole victor. We have now opened the gates to the Century of Türkiye without jeopardising our democracy, development, or ambitions,” stated the president.

“Together, we have realized the dreams and excitement of all sectors of our nation, from men and women, young and old, employees and retirees,” he emphasised.

According to Ahmet Yener, chairman of the Supreme Election Council (YSK), Erdogan presently leads the presidential runoff with 53.41% of the vote, while opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu has 46.59%, with 75.42% of the ballots counted.

On May 14, no contender received 50% of the vote in the first round, necessitating the presidential runoff, despite Erdogan led with 49.52%.Erdogan’s election coalition also gained a parliamentary majority on May 14.

“We have completed the second-round presidential election with the favor of our nation,” Endogen stated, thanking the Turkish people.

“I would like to thank every member of our nation who has once again entrusted us with the responsibility of governing the country for the next five years,” he continued.

The election results on Sunday demonstrated once again that “no one can covet Turkey’s gains,” Endogen stated, adding, “no one can look down on our nation, insult our people.” It cannot draw our youth into its own awful darkness. Nobody can point a finger at Turkey.”
