In a joint session in Mogadishu on Monday, both Houses of Somalia’s Federal Parliament adopted the Revised 2023 National Budget, Somali Magazine reported.
The Parliament approved a 917 million dollar fiscal budget for this year, 2023, and the Cabinet approved it in November of last year.
Somali Finance Minister Bihi Iman Egeh praised MPs for passing the budget, saying it is a step forward in the debt-relief process.
“The two Houses of Parliament approved the revised government budget for 2023 today.” This is critical for national activities to continue properly and for the debt reduction process to proceed forward. “I appreciate our honorable lawmakers’ debates and support,” Egeh remarked.
