On Tuesday, a father in northern Galkayo was detained for reportedly murdering his two teenage children.
The two children, aged 12 and 13, were killed in the Falluja neighborhood where they shared a home with their father.
After smelling the decomposing remains and forcing their way into the house, neighbors were alerted to the death.
The father was arrested and charged with murder, according to Galkayo Mayor Mohamud Abdizur Adan.
Investigators believe the father was a drug user, according to Adan.
