    Khadra Dahir Ige, a well-known Somali artist, has passed away.

    At the age of 65, Khadra Dahir Ige, one of the most well-known and well-liked musicians in the Somali music industry, passed away in Hargeisa. Pneumonia claimed Khadra’s life in Hargeisa International Hospital.

    Khadra was born in 1957 in Hargeisa and joined the Waberi band in 1974 at the age of 17, claims fellow musician and artist Omar Serbiya.

    Khadra is thought to have produced more than 2,500 love and sad songs over the course of her nearly five-decade career, which affected many Somalis.

    She was, however, very reserved in her personal life and hardly ever participated in interviews.

    Artists like Nimo Dareen, DJ Suber, and Hassan Dhuhul Laabsalah all their condolences to Khadra.

    Most recently, Khadra Dahir resided in Hargeisa. She leaves five kids in her wake.
