The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) in Riyadh has completed a project with the World Food Program (WFP) to support capacity building of the Somalian Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management.
The project, which began yesterday, aimed to increase the ministry’s staff’s capacity, improve its operational skills for humanitarian work and disaster management in Somalia, and strengthen regional humanitarian centers, as well as establish an early warning center.
Yusuf Bakheet Rahma, Director of the KSrelief Branch in Africa, and Lara Fossi, WFP Deputy Regional Director, visited the Somalian Ministry’s Early Warning Center, where they were briefed by the Director-General of the Ministry, Mohammed Wali, on the operations of the headquarters, its various departments, and the mechanism of monitoring and follow-up of the early warning systems, data analysis unit, and information gathering, among other things.
