    Malaysia and Somalia Talk About Aviation Cooperation

    Fardowsa Osman Igal, the Federal Government of Somalia’s Minister of Transport and Aviation, met with Dr. Wee Ka Siong, her Malaysian counterpart, during a special meeting in Montreal, Canada, where the ICAO meeting is being held.

    The manager of the Somali Civil Aviation Authority, Ahmed Moallin Hassan, attended the meeting where two ministers spoke about ways that the two nations could collaborate on transportation and aviation services.

    “We have jointly confirmed the importance of both countries in this regard,” Minister Fardowsa said. “Malaysia is one of the countries with which we want to have fruitful cooperation in the development of transport and aviation services.”

    she continued by saying that by providing the Somali Civil Aviation Authority with technology and expertise, the Malaysian government is helping Somalia.

    Dr. Wee Ka Siong, the minister of transportation for Malaysia, reaffirmed that the country prioritises its aviation and transportation-related cooperation with Somalia.
