Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was sentenced to three years in prison on Saturday for “corrupt practises,” according to local media.
According to the newspaper Dawn, a trial court in Islamabad issued the sentence in the Toshakhana case.
Khan was charged in the Toshakhana case in May by the country’s Election Commission.
Toshakhana (treasure house) is a government-owned organisation that collects presents for members of parliament, ministers, foreign secretary, presidents, and prime ministers.
