Bossaso May 31,2023 Somali Magazine – Mr. Said Abdullahi Deni, President of Puntland, today inspected the Port of Bossaso, where building and development of the extension are moving well.
The President was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Urban Development and DP World, the firm in charge of port operations, on a tour of the current work.
The port is 450 metres long, with the largest jetty extending 150 metres. The jetty is 30 metres wide, and building on the first jetty is presently 70% complete. As part of the ongoing development, an additional 215 metres will be built to connect it to the former jetty.
A 4000-meter container section, a port cooler, an entrance and exit road, and a three-story structure run by state government organisations will also be included.
President Deni has prioritised the construction of the Bossaso Port since taking office. He has worked to see that the deal reached between the P&O Ports corporation and the government to improve the port’s construction and general development is carried out.
On January 24, 2023, the President officially lay the groundwork for the port’s growth and development.
