Somali Magazine – President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of the Federal Republic of Somalia attended an emergency conference with Islamic global leaders in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the situation in the occupied region of Palestine.
The President reiterated the Somali people’s and government’s long-standing support for the Palestinian brothers’ freedom and statehood. He added Somalia’s voice to the Islamic world’s calls for an end to the carnage and ethnic cleansing in Gaza.
“What is happening in Gaza is against human conscience as well as all international laws and norms; we need a united decision to stop it.” “The only solution to preventing security, political, and social unrest in the region is a sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital,” he stated.
Despite terrorism and difficult conditions, the President reaffirmed that the Somali people will never relinquish their fundamental support for their Palestinian brethren. He also congratulated Saudi Arabia on hosting and coordinating the gathering.
