Somali Magazine  – Somalia’s Ministry of Trade and Industry has warned Somali businessmen against doing business with the Al-Shabaab group, and said that legal action will be taken against those found.

The Ministry of Commerce said that the businessmen or companies found to be affiliated with Al-Shabaab will have their licenses revoked.

This decision is part of the government’s measures to cripple Al-Shabaab’s income from the community, in order to eliminate the funding they use for bombings and attacks.

Recently, the Office of the Attorney General of Somalia has announced that the government has declared a financial war against Al-Shabaab.

The prosecutor’s office said it is investigating businesses that allegedly passed on customer data to Al-Shabaab.

The office said that when the investigation is over, anyone found guilty will be brought before the law.
