    Somali Magazine September 24,2023-HE Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, delivered a stunning speech during the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York.

    The Prime Minister emphasised the government’s progress in security, counterterrorism, financial reform, social development, and anti-corruption initiatives.

    The Prime Minister emphasised Somalia’s armed forces’ accomplishments in liberating 45% of the country from terrorist extremists, as well as local inhabitants’ commitment to rid their territories of the terrorist group.

    Prime Minister Hamza has asked the United Nations Security Council to abolish the three-decade-long arms embargo in order for the Somali National Army to defeat the terrorist group Al-Shabaab and retake full control of the country.

    He emphasised the significance of global action, emphasising Somalia’s vulnerability to climate change and the necessity for international aid.

    Furthermore, the Prime Minister urged international institutions to modernise in order to support development and financial stability.
