H.E Hamza Abdi Barre, Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, visited to observe the Turki-Som military training college in Mogadishu and handed commands to the Gorgor battalion as they resumed their training.

The Prime Minister emphasised that the Turkish-Som college produced officers and soldiers who improved security in the country and restored Somali people’s trust in the armed forces, resulting in effective victories in the war against Al-Shabaab terrorists and the country’s liberation.

While speaking to officers and deputy officers at the training centre, Prime Minister Hamza stated that they carry firearms to safeguard the defence of the country, religion, and people, and that they must avoid anything that undermines their reputation.

He also stated that the Somali National Army’s Gorgor Brigade has played an essential role in the liberation of several sections of the nation and is anticipated to eradicate terrorists from the remaining places they hold.

The troops demonstrated an exercise relevant to the training and instruction they get at college during the inspection.

The Prime Minister commended the Turkish government for its involvement in constructing the National Army, particularly the Turki-Som College, which produces commanders and soldiers who have made significant contributions to the nation’s defence.
