Somali Magazine – Denmark warned on Friday that Russia may attack a NATO country within three to five years.
“Russia’s capacity to produce military equipment has increased tremendously,” Defence Minister Troels Lund Poulsen told Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
“It is possible that Russia will put Article 5 and NATO cooperation to the test within the next three to five years. This was not NATO’s assessment in 2023. “This is new information that is coming to light,” he stated.
“Russia may have the will to launch assaults. “They can now have military capability earlier than we expected,” the Danish defence minister added.
In December, Denmark and the United States negotiated a defence pact that would allow US troops and military equipment to be stationed on Danish soil.
The 10-year pact was unveiled after the US struck similar arrangements with Finland and Sweden the same month.
In March of last year, Denmark established a $1 billion fund for military, civilian, and business aid to Ukraine.
