In the last 24 hours, Russian missile attacks in eastern Ukraine killed four persons and injured one.

“On April 16, it was possible to establish confirmation about four people who died as a result of a rocket attack on Sloviansk,” said Donetsk Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko on Telegram.

Officials were unable to establish whether there had been casualties in the Russian-controlled cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha in the Donetsk area, according to Kyrylenko.

Separately, Zaporizhzhia Governor Yuriy Malashko stated on Telegram that Russia conducted 56 strikes on 16 communities in the region over the course of 24 hours.

“So far, 52 reports of destruction of social infrastructure objects, apartments, private houses, cars, and other property have been registered,” stated Malashko.

He also stated that a 61-year-old man was injured in the Preobrazhenka community and was rushed to the hospital.

According to the most recent UN estimates, Russia’s war in Ukraine has killed 8,490 people and injured 14,244 others.
