Sergey Mironov, the leader of the Spravedlivaya Rossiya political party, announced on Saturday that he will support Vladimir Putin in the 2024 presidential election.

“I am addressing our congress delegates with a proposal to nominate Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin as a candidate for President of the Russian Federation in the upcoming elections in 2024,” he stated at a party gathering.

After United Russia and the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Spravedlivaya Rossiya is Russia’s third-largest political party.

Mironov recognised the prospect of the polls being postponed owing to “combat activities.”

However, if they do occur, the president will require “nationwide support,” he stressed.

Putin was elected president for the second time in March 2018. The Russian parliament made constitutional modifications in 2020 that permitted Putin to run in the 2024 elections.
