Somali Magazine – The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) distributed food to flood victims in Baidoa, the administrative capital of Southwest State.

In response to the deteriorating situation, SoDMA dispatched 7 tons of food to the city of Baidoa, which was affected by massive floods caused by autumn rains that also poured in many portions of the country’s southern and central regions.

According to the Prime Minister, the torrential rains displaced half a million people and affected more than one million more.

The Minister of Information stated that the number of people affected by the flash floods in the country could reach 1.2 million, with 31 people killed in the floods, and over half a million forced to flee their homes owing to the fall rains that slammed the entire country.
