Somali Magazine September 09, 2023 -In Mogadishu, the inaugural meeting of the Somalia-Ethiopia Joint Ministerial Committee (JMC) completed smoothly.
The high-level meeting, which was preceded by a series of talks attended by senior government officials from both countries, took place from September 5th to 7th.
The summit began with a groundbreaking trade agreement, laying the groundwork for a broad relationship in a variety of mutually beneficial areas. Mr Salah Ahmed Jama, Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, issued a statement in which he affirmed Somalia’s commitment to improving bilateral ties with Ethiopia on the basis of mutual respect.
He emphasised the necessity of creating opportunities for both countries’ citizenry to prosper. The first JMC conference in Mogadishu was lauded as a promising step towards bettering the lives of Somalia and Ethiopians.
