Somali Magazine – The Arab Republic of Egypt voiced its full support for the position of the Federal Republic of Somalia in a press release released today by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, calling for the respect of its sovereignty and unity. The statement stated that “Egypt rejects any action that threatens the national integrity of Somalia” and emphasized that the Somali government and people are the sole beneficiaries of their natural riches.
Egypt also commended regional and international comments condemning actions that undermine the stability of the Horn of Africa. Egypt advocated respect to the African Union’s ideals, which include the protection of its member states’ territorial integrity and boundaries.
