58 hours after deadly earthquakes struck southern Turkey, a teenage girl was found trapped among the rubble on Wednesday.

Lucen Elali, a 14-year-old girl of Syrian descent, was rescued in Kahramanmaras, the epicenter of the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude earthquakes, after two and a half hours of laborious efforts.

Elali’s parents were saved unharmed, but her two siblings were later determined to have died. While search and rescue efforts are still going on, her two remaining siblings are still trapped beneath the wreckage.

According to Turkey’s disaster agency AFAD, at least 8,574 people have died, 49,133 have been injured, and over 6,400 buildings have been completely demolished.

The search and relief operations comprise more than 96,000 rescuers.
