As the Russia-Ukraine war reached its 15th day, the foreign ministers of Turkey, Ukraine, and Russia convened on Thursday with the goal of negotiating a durable peace.

The high-level tripartite discussion took place on the fringes of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum in Turkiye at 11:20 a.m. local time (0820 GMT) and lasted more than an hour.

Separate news conferences are scheduled for Russia’s Sergei Lavrov, Ukraine’s Dmytro Kuleba, and Turkiye’s Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Prior to the meeting on Wednesday, Kuleba expressed optimism on social media for “good faith negotiations, not from a propaganda standpoint, but actually with the objective of finding a solution on how to stop Russia’s conflict.”

Separately, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced optimism for the meeting on Wednesday.
