The attendance of Ukraine in the G-7 Summit in Japan might be a “game changer,” French President Emmanuel Macron told his Ukrainian counterpart on Saturday.

Emmanuel Macron stated at his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Hiroshima that the summit is a “unique” chance for Ukraine to exchange ideas with southern countries.

Macron tweeted a clip from the meeting in which he repeated France’s support for Ukraine and stated that his country has stood “shoulder to shoulder” with Kyiv from the start of Russia’s war.

He told Zelenskyy it was a “very good idea” to travel to Saudi Arabia before the conference.

France’s assistance for the fighter aircraft coalition and involvement in the training mission for Ukrainian pilots, according to Zelenskyy, is “important.”

“I emphasised the priority of implementing the Ukrainian Peace Formula and involving as many countries as possible in it,” he stated in a tweet. “I briefed on my fruitful visit to the Arab League summit.”
