Teknofest, the world’s largest aviation, space, and technology expo, will continue its tour to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye, with editions in Ankara and Izmir after the April event in Istanbul.
The capital Ankara will be the second stop on the festival, which will be held in the three main cities of Türkiye to commemorate the republic’s centenary.
According to a report from Sabah newspaper on Monday, the event will be held in Ankara from August 30 to September 3, and then in Izmir from September 27 to October 1.
The tech fair will be held at Etimesgut Airport in Ankara and ili Airport in Izmir.
Teknofest in both cities seeks to provide guests with a scientific, technology, and space journey complete with technological contests, venture programmers, air demonstrations, award ceremonies, science presentations, educational seminars, exhibitions, stage performances, and unique flight experiences for children.
Teknofest is an annual event organized by the Turkish Technology Team Foundation (T3 Foundation) and the Industry and Technology Ministry that takes place in several Turkish towns.
Teknofest 2023 Istanbul, which took place between April 27 and May 1, attracted 130 participants and 19 sponsor firms, as well as 117 entities, including ministries, presidencies, public and private sector organisations, academic institutions, and media corporations.
Technology contests were held in 41 major events and 102 different categories as part of the festival to support the initiatives of thousands of young people working in the sectors of national technology production and development.
This year, over 333,000 teams and over 1 million contestants applied to Teknofest’s Technology Competitions.
Prizes totaling more than TL 13 million ($478,564) and material assistance totaling more than TL 30 million were given to young people. The young people who placed in the events were honored on the Teknofest stage.
