Somali Magazine September 15,2023-Mr. Yusuf Hussein Jimcaale (Madaale), Governor of Banaadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, today inaugurated a new tarmac road connecting Kaxda District to the rest of the capital. The Deputy Governor of Banaadir Region for Public Works and the Deputy Governor of Banaadir Region for Security and Politics both attended the ceremony.
The road building is part of a wider project called Build Your Country with One Dollar, which aims to improve Somalia’s infrastructure and development via citizen contributions. The project has received accolades for its novel and inclusive approach to nation-building.
Mr. Madaale stated that the new road will improve the integration and mobility of Kaxda District, one of Mogadishu’s newest areas. He also stated that his administration will endeavour to beautify and modernise the capital city so that it can compete with other cities in the region.
