    The Somali Ministry of Education plans to hire 3,800 more public school teachers.

    – Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre and Education Minister Farah Sheikh Abdulkhadir introduced on Monday the exam that will be used to hire 3,800 new teachers for public schools.

    The exam was held at 22 venues across the country, with 8,000 participants taking part. According to the Ministry of Education, 1,000 of the 3,000 teachers would be recruited from the Banadir region.

    Hamdi Mohamed Hussein, a mother of an 8-day-old daughter, and her husband Mohamed Abdi Ali were among the 8,000 candidates sitting the exam in Mogadishu.

    Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre stated that his government prioritizes redistributing taxes earned from Somalis to the community in order to provide educational opportunities to three million Somali youngsters who have reached the age of education.

    Those living in the country’s educational centers have been requested to leave by Hamza Abdi Barre so that Somali youngsters can be served.

    He directed that the Security Agencies and the Ministry of Education collaborate to rebuild those sites.
