According to various accounts, an active-duty member of the United States Air Force lit himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, D.C. on Sunday to protest the war in Gaza.

“I will no longer be complicit in genocide.” I’m about to carry out an extreme act of protest, yet it’s nothing compared to what Palestinians have been going through at the hands of their occupiers. “This is what our ruling class has decided will be normal,” 25-year-old Aaron Bushnell stated before lighting himself on fire.

Footage of the protest and Bushnell setting himself on fire went popular on social media.

The Secret Service doused the fire, and Bushnell was sent to a nearby hospital with “critical life-threatening injuries,” according to the DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department.

According to information gathered by Anadolu from a Washington Fire and Emergency Health Service source, the complaint was filed with the Washington Fire Department about 13:00 local time.

According to the report, an adult guy set fire to himself in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington.

“Upon arriving at the scene, we saw that the fire had been extinguished by uniformed Secret Service personnel,” the spokesman stated.

According to many accounts based on live video of the incident, the guy screamed “Free Palestine” while burning.
