    – Dr. Ali Haji Adan, the health minister for Somalia, paid Sunday hospital visits to those injured in the twin vehicle bomb incidents that occurred on Saturday.

After hearing reports regarding the injured people’s condition from hospital staff and medical professionals, Minister Dr. Ali Haji was given the assurance that they would receive comprehensive medical attention.

According to Somalia’s president, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, two vehicle bombs that exploded outside the ministry of education in the country’s capital Mogadishu on Saturday caused at least 100 fatalities and 300 injuries.

Mohamud and hospital representatives warned that the death toll might increase.

Minister of Health Dr. Ali Haji Adan stated that the Ministry was trying to ensure that patients with the most serious injuries would be flown abroad for additional care.

Although the president pointed the finger at the Islamist organisation al-Shabaab, which often targets people and government facilities, no one immediately claimed credit for the incident.
